About Dr.Kanwar Kishore Seth
After taking his Ph.D. in Corrosion
Technology from the Bombay University Dept. of Chemical
Technology in 1967, Dr.Seth worked as an Industrial Corrosion
Consultant . He joined J.K.Chemicals Ltd.Bombay in’69
as Head of Research & Development Dept.where his work
involved solving corrosion problems, developing new products
& trouble shooting. He carried out very advanced &
sophisticated research for the manufacture of speciality
chemicals.He developed a new process & technology
for the manufacture of sodium hydrosulphite via Formate
Route which had been a very closely guarded technology
& the sole monopoly of only three Japanese companies
in the world.He left J.K.Chemicals in ‘82
Dr. Seth set up his own unit in ‘78 to manufacture
anti-corrosive products for use in the engineering &
automotive sectors in India.
Dr. Seth is a practising Industrial Corrosion Consultant
for the last 40 years. He has advised a number of companies
on the corrosion problems viz; J.K.Chemicals Ltd., J.K.Files,
J.K.Helene Curtis Ltd., Indian Railways, ISRO, BARC, TELCO,
BHEL, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Ashok Leyland Ltd.,
Escorts Ltd., Hero Honda Motors, New Holland Tractors
Ltd., TAFE, Eicher Motors Ltd., Alstom Projects etc.
Dr. Seth has been on the visiting faculty of I.I.T,Powai,Bombay
as a Professor & Examiner for M.Tech & Ph.D students.He
has also delivered numerous lectures on corrosion in industry
& under Govt. of India’s Quality Improvement
Programme to Senior Professors & Heads Of. Depts.
in the Metallurgical Engineering & Chemical Engineering
Depts. from I.I.T’ Bombay, Kharagpur,Delhi,Kanpur,Madras,
Benares,Roorkee Dr.Seth has published a number of papers
on corrosion problems in the chemical industry.
Dr. Seth is also a techno-economic consultant on the panel
of State Bank Of India & has carried out numerous
assignments for Allahabad & Canara Banks as well.
Dr. Seth has attended a number of
Staff Management Courses at Jamnalal Institute of Management,Bombay
& is a member of the Institute of Industrial Managers
